Replace your coffee with Yaupon tea, you will be glad you did.

Yaupon Tea is the only Native North American plant that contains caffeine.

Contains about 25-40mg of caffeine per 1tsp of tea

Yaupon tea is crafted from the leaves of the yaupon holly (Ilex vomitoria), a native shrub of the southeastern United States. The leaves are notable for their composition, rich in caffeine, theobromine, and antioxidants such as polyphenols and flavonoids. Unlike many other caffeinated plants, yaupon contains no tannins, resulting in a smoother flavor and less bitterness.

Traditionally, Indigenous peoples consumed yaupon tea for its stimulating properties, using it as a ceremonial beverage and for social gatherings. The presence of caffeine and theobromine provides a gentle energy boost and promotes alertness, while the antioxidants help combat oxidative stress and support overall wellness.

Medicinally, yaupon tea has been valued for aiding digestion, enhancing mental clarity, and reducing inflammation. Some historical accounts suggest it was used to treat headaches and as a diuretic. Modern herbalists appreciate its role in supporting cardiovascular health and its potential for improving mood. Yaupon tea can be brewed hot or cold and is increasingly enjoyed as a sustainable, locally sourced alternative to coffee and imported teas.
